The Vanishing Bar

Overview

A speculative hospitality concept designed for the waters off Mamaia, Romania — this mirrored, half-sunken bar was conceived as both a reflection and a retreat. The structure disappears into the seascape, with angled, mirrored panels that blend sky, water, and horizon. Solar panels are integrated discreetly into the form’s geometry, positioned to maximize sun exposure across the day. Guests enter via a floating dock, descending into an underwater lounge where arena-style seating rises toward the surface. Diners rest below sea level while basking in light, water, and the edge of the sky.
